One chemical that takes part in nearly every cell activity is protein. Proteins are needed for chemical reactions that take place in the cytoplasm. Cells make their own proteins on small structures in the cytoplasm called ribosomes. Ribosomes are either free floating in the cytoplasm of a cell or attached to Endoplasmic Reticulum in a cell. |
