You probably never thought that a sponge is actually an animal - but it is! It has many cells, the cells have different functions and are eukaryotic. Also, the sponge must obtain food and digest it. Sponges obtain their food by filtering out tiny particles from the water that goes through their bodies. Sponges (unlike other animals) do not really move. |
